A great Club Site!

This site is due to close, perhaps at the end of this season, due to the building of a bypass. This is a shame, as the site has really lovely Wardens and Staff. There is hard standing, and spacious grass pitches. The toilet blocks have not been updated due to the future loss of the site, but are simple, clean and perfectly usable. Had the site been further developed, (with a trend to more extensive hard standing), then it would lose much of it's charm. We had a loverly time here and hope to return before the site is closed at some point. Yes, Wi Fi is poor, but usable. The site charges a very reasonable rate for the area too.

Nice site apart from road noise

Unfortunately the road nearby was closed, so we were diverted, and this has impacted on the road noise of the site. The staff were friendly, and it is close to Camelford, where we spent a few hours, including a very quirky shop. The showers/toilets need updating, but apart from that, it was a lovely site.

Great little site

What a great little site, warden very friendly and laid back, location is ideal for North coast and more sheltered being slightly inland, was a little hesitant when booking due to reviews about facilities and electricity Pilon but need not have worried, facilities are fine and spotlessly clean and Pilon really not that intrusive. Site has a slight incline so Motorhomers will need levelling blocks, fish and chip van on Friday night was excellent, will definitely use again.

Camelford Caravan Club Site 2021

This is a good site, well run by helpful, friendly and knowledgeable staff. The site is a mixture of hardstand and grass pitches, we had a grass pitch, easy to put the awning pegs in ! There is an electricy pylon on the site, DO NOT let this worry you, the pylon is well fenced off and is not intrusive it is a case of it is there and so ignore it. If you decide to visit any of the popular tourist spots please remember that they were not designed for a lot of cars, both Padstow and Bude have poor parking so if you are in a motorhome no chance (in padstow there is a warning sign saying Car Parks are usually full from 10.30 in the morning). For motorhome owners please remember that Cornish even A roads can be very narrow and on some roads even my Discovery only just got through. Tintagel was a good day out, if you go there and want a good value meal try Ye Olde Malthouse. Would we go again to Camelford Yes. People have said there is no/poor Wi-Fi, if you are going to this site you could always try what we did and that was to take a Wi-Fi Hot Spot box, ours was borrowed from our son, we always had 5 bars on our phones whilst on site and excellent Internet connections.

Wi-Fi is abysmal

Firstly I have to say that the wardens are super. Extremely friendly and accommodating. The site is very tidy and the facilities are immaculate. I subscribe on a yearly basis to the CAMC in house Wi-Fi and have always found it to be excellent apart from this site where it is all but useless.

Lovely site away from the busy places

we chose here for our trip to Cornwall after calling into Plymouth to see family..... The site is well laid out and we had a hardstand pitch too but most are grass pitches here. It is easy to visit the coast from here too and Camelford is an easy stroll to the Co-Op and other shops although it is not well served. We stocked up in Plymouth before heading here so worth noting if you are BBQ or cooking fans, we rarely eat out but sometimes eat from visiting Fish & Chips etc. Weather was mixed here, more rain (as usual when we go to Devon/Cornwall....) Facility block is clean and functional but could due with a refurb. If we ever come back to Cornwall, not likely for a number of years as Dove and Midlands/North are easier to get to from us in Cambridgeshire, then we'll stop here again

Great little site

Stayed for a week during a hot week in July, and absolutely loved it. The wardens were friendly and welcoming, and really made us feel welcome. The site itself is quite compact, with mainly grass pitches. We were able to get onto a hardstanding, but would probably go for grass next time as they had more space for sitting out. The facilities are quite dated, but spotlessly clean. Covid rules were generally adhered to, but theres always a few idiots who think they are exempt. We almost exclusively use on board facilities now. The dog walk area is more of a pit stop, but served its purpose. There is a public footpath just down the road, and the whole of Cornwall a bit further on. The coast is a short drive, with Port Isaac, and Boscastle must see's. As the season was just gearing up, we found that getting there early am paid dividends. We also went inland where there are a number of reservoirs to walk around. Crowdy and Siblyback to name two. For wet days there is a Military Museum at Davidstow. One place that was just fantastic is National Trust Pentireglaze near Polzeath. A brand new car park and refreshment area is just what you need after a 5 mile round walk to the coast. Views are simply breathtaking! We will certainly be back to this site

Great site for visiting North Cornwall

We stayed for 14 nights in June 2021. This is a fairly small site and quite a number of the pitches are sloping so you will almost certainly need levelling blocks. It’s very quiet so may not suit younger visitors though we really enjoyed the peace. Mick and Pat work very hard to maintain the site and couldn’t have been more helpful during our stay. There isn’t anything to speak of in Camelford (except a great chippy) but this is a really good base for visiting North Cornwall.
